Winners of 16th Annual Cappies Awards Presented This Week

Best musical winner Boca Raton High School’s Sweet Charity

The crush of more than a thousand cheering students, their parents and friends overflowed the orchestra seating and the boxes of the Broward Center’s cavernous Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center Tuesday as the 16th annual Cappies Awards recognized excellence in high school theater and theatrical criticism.

The Critics’ Awards Program, or Cappies for short, is comprised of 24 public and private schools throughout Broward and Palm Beach counties in a gala program of performances and 42 award presentations to student performers, designers, technicians and critics.
