Putting It Together

The South Florida theater season has been quietly churning for weeks with entertaining work like Mosaic Theatre’s Completely Hollywood (Adapted). But it erupts over the next two weekends.

— Our Critic’s Choice has to be Caldwell Theatre’s Follies, another of its Stephen Sondheim concert productions beginning Friday Oct.1 through Sunday.

–Curtain Call Playhouse opens its season Friday with the musical review A Salute to Broadway at the Willow Theatre in Boca Raton. Playing through Oct. 10.

— Broward Stage Door in Coral Springs won’t provide the necessary Kleenex at its production of Steel Magnolias opening officially Saturday, Oct. 2 through Nov. 7.

–Jan McArt’s Theatre Arts Guild is holding her Fifth Annual Ice Cream Social featuring a special production of Two Men About Town at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Wold Performing Arts Center at Lynn University in Boca Raton. It stars cabaret performer Steve Ross and noted British actor/director/producer Barry Ingham performing material from Noel Coward’s song book and readings of his letters. –Don’t blink on Monday, Oct. 4 or you’ll miss the sole performance of the 2010 edition of The 24 Hour Theatre Project at the Caldwell Theatre.
