—-Palm Beach Dramaworks is kicking off a new series of concert performances of acclaimed classics in a Musical Theatre Masters Series, opening this weekend with five outings of Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe’s Camelot.

Staged with a minimum of sets and costumes, resembling the stage readings of Dramaworks’ Master Playwrights’ Series, the production will be directed by Clive Cholerton who staged several similar shows while artistic director of the Caldwell Theatre Company. Musical direction will be by Caryl Fantel. The cast includes Michael McKenzie as King Arthur, Margery Lowe as Queen Guenevere and Jim Ballard as Lancelot with Barrie Ingham (a local resident who has portrayed Pellinore in revivals), Michael Focus, Shane Tanner, Joshua Alan Eleazer, James Cichewicz, Leah Sessam, Renee Elizabeth Turner and Casey Butler.

Tickets have been going very quickly, so check for availability. Performances are scheduled for 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and 7 p.m. Sunday at 201 Clematis Street in downtown West Palm Beach. Tickets are $35 and student tickets $10. Call (561) 514-4042, or visit www.palmbeachdramaworks.org

Two additional shows, to be determined, will be presented in the summer, when the series will expand to two segments: a lecture on the lives and careers of the artists who created the show and, on separate days, a presentation of the musical in concert.
