John Rubinstein & Pippin: I’ve Heard That Song Somewhere

Déjà vu is inevitable for John Rubinstein as he portrays the father of the title protagonist in Pippin revival’s national tour coming to the Broward Center next week. After all, Rubinstein created the young man’s role in his Broadway debut 42 years ago. So while he’s on stage acting in one show, another one sometimes nibbles at his consciousness.

Pippin And Motown Headline 2014-2015 Season At Bway Across America In FTL

“Something old (sort of), something new” characterizes the 2014-2015 season for Broadway Across America-Fort Lauderdale. Two current Broadway hits, Pippin and Motown the Musical, will be joined be a refurbished The Phantom of the Opera, last season’s revival of Annie, an older revival of Anything Goes, and the unrefurbished but indestructible The Lion King.

Pippin May Feel A Bit Threadbare, But BRTG Delivers Vibrant Performances

Those big budget companies make productions with much smaller budgets such as Boca Raton Theatre Guild seem to be missing something – when, in fact, their Pippin this season has outstanding elements that are just as fine as those found in better heeled-companies.
