Playwriting Group Meets
The Playwrights Drama Group, affiliate with the Writers’ Network of South Florida, will hold readings of its members’ short plays on Monday, Dec. 12, in Fort Lauderdale.
The group, which usually meets the second Monday of the month, will critique the ten-minute works. Playwrights should advise the organizers how many plays they will be bringing to read. Contact shortplays@aol.com.
The session is slated from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Commodore Condominium meeting room, 3430 Galt Ocean Drive in Fort Lauderdale.
Promethean Sponsors Theater for Kids
The Promethean Theatre, best known for its thought-provoking and irreverent fare, is continuing its children’s programming this season with Jingles, Jokes & Jollies: A Tropical Holiday on Saturdays this month.
The one-hour program is designed to appeal to children ages 3 to 10 years old. It will feature “holiday stories, tickle your tinsel with holiday jokes, and show you a jolly good time with a sing-a-long of holiday songs.”
The show is slated for 11 a.m. Dec. 10 and 17, and 2 p.m. Dec. 10 at Nova Southeastern University’s Don Taft University Center Black Box Theatre, 3301 College Avenue in Davie.
