The Company Company, a group of current and former New World School of the Arts students, is holding its fourth annual New Play Project comprised of short works written, acted and directed by students on Friday, Aug. 10 to Sunday, Aug. 12 at the Byron Carlyle Theatre in Miami Beach.
Artistic Director Dylan Guerra describes the plays as a mélange of “awkward dinners, mystic fields, twisted dwarves, broken relationships, statements on war, playwrights in distress, wild characters, stolen hearts, a flying woman, plants, 1950s spoofs and wild fun.”
This year’s production will showcase the works of student playwrights Hannah Benitez, Ana Heretoui, Alexis Scheer, Monica Skoko and Guerra. Directed by Ryan Avalos, Heather Knobel, Phillip Pilla and Guerra, the actors are Ryan Avalos, Spencer Bang, Kaelyn Brooke, Cheyenne Hardy, Heather Knobel, Antonina Vargas, Pilla and Guerra.
Founded in 2009, The Company Company presents works that represent the unique perspectives of high school students.
All proceeds from the project will be donated to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society,
