Floridian Miles Wilkin Honored With Tony For Bringing Broadway Across America

For about three seconds Sunday night, the Tony Awards broadcast a pre-recorded glimpse of Miles C. Wilkin and slipped in a sentence saying that he was receiving a “Special Tony Award. But Wilkin, a native Floridian now returning to live in South Beach, has been one of the people who transformed the quality and amount of theater that the rest of the country has seen in their communities over four decades.

The tour of Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas is a reliable litmus test of just how deep into or disaffected you are with the holiday spirit.

This definitively children’s musical with a few sugar plum crumbs thrown to the adults in tow will likely increase the cheery level of those already in a cheery mood and do little to make merry those fighting the holiday blahs

Formulaic Newsies Still Enchants With Joyous Dancing

It’s fortunate that Newsies is a dance-centric musical because much of the lyrics and dialogue were nearly impossible to understand in the national tour visiting the Arsht Center from Broadway Across America. But that dancing is spectacular and well-worth seeing.

On 7th Visit, Wicked Retains Some Of The Magic, But Actors Really Pump Up The Heart

After 11 years and counting on Broadway, a decade on the road and on its seventh visit to South Florida, some of the magic should have vanished from the musical Wicked. But the tour has not only maintained much of the magic, but arguably is even more heartfelt and polished than its predecessors.
