One Response to Complete List of 44th Annual Carbonell Nominees & Stats

  1. Bill Hirschman says:

    Posting for Patti Gardner

The Carbonell Awards are as imperfect as people. There’s simply no way to “get it right” when judging artistic merit. However, I love the evening and try to remember it’s a celebration of a year’s worth of theatrical work. The abundance of that work is worth celebrating, whether it is recognized by the committee or not. I would actually love to see a montage of all the annual productions, including the ones not Carbonell recommended, at every award ceremony!

The only way to have a well informed opinion, is to GO TO THE THEATRE! It’s difficult to understand the grumblings of an Artistic or Executive Director, if they are an absentee audience member in the very arena they claim to be a part of. How does one compare quality without that information?

Here’s to another year of what we love…..
