Jan and Don McArt Recall Their Past In Radio Interview

Radio producer and host Caroline Breder-Watts recorded numerous interviews with South Florida theater professionals over the years for public radio and other stations.

Among them was this conversation likely recorded in around 2011 between the beloved actress-producer-impressario Jan McArt and her brother, the actor Don “Bunny” McArt who had just finished a national tour of Rupert Holmes’ bio-play Say Goodnight, Gracie about George Burns.

Jan, who died in January, and Don, who died in 2012, banter in this 11-minute clip about how she started the Royal Palm Dinner Theatre in 1977, some of its history, recalling favorite shows they did and their beginnings in the business including her crucial audition for Richard Rodgers.

In the future, we hope to share some other conversations that Breder-Watts archived.
