Breaking News: Broward To Allow Some Theaters To Reopen

Theaters and performing arts venues in Broward County can apply for permission to reopen as early as June 15 – decided case by case based on meeting undisclosed guidelines. Also, the county estimated $14.2 million in losses for non-profits arts organizations for March and April. The county also announced $428,000 in grants given for operational expenses.

Local Theater Students Honored With Silver Knight Awards

Two high school seniors, including the co-author of the anthem memorializing the Parkland High School shooting, won the Silver Knight Award in the drama category last week recognizing efforts that went beyond on-stage productions.

Theatre League Ongoing Fundraiser Aids Gig Artists

Steinberg /ATCA and Osborn New Play Award Winners Named

Playwright E.M. Lewis is the 2020 recipient of the Harold and Mimi Steinberg / American Theatre Critics Association New Play Award. The Steinberg/ATCA Award, which comes with a $25,000 prize, recognizes playwrights for the best scripts that premiered professionally outside New York City during 2019.
