Donna McKechnie, one of Broadway’s most beautiful and talented dancers, brings her one-woman show to South Florida for three performances next month.
My Musical Comedy Life, a song and dance memoir she has toured, will play at The PlayGround Theatre in Miami Shores at 8 p.m. Feb. 12 , plus 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Feb. 13. Tickets range from $30 to $100 depending on which show and attendance at an after-party.
McKechnie will also conduct a master class for a limited number of local actors on Feb. 7 and her director, sometime South Floridian Richard Jay Alexander, will conduct two classes Feb. 19.
McKechnie was the original Cassie in A Chorus Line; performed the stunning dance solo Tock-Tock and sang You Could Drive A Person Crazy in Stephen Sondheim’s Company , and was the lead dancer in Turkey Lurkey Time in the original production of Promises, Promises ‘ all choreographed by her one-time husband, Michael Bennett.
