New figures show that the COVID-19 pandemic continued to gut punch the arts community in Miami-Dade County through last month with a total loss estimated at nearly $43 million and costing more than 5,300 jobs across the non-profit and cultural organizations, the county reported Tuesday.
Miami-Dade Arts Lost $22.8 Million Through March
Already, the COVID-19 pandemic has cost the Miami-Dade arts and culture world an estimated $22.9 million and affected 1,700 jobs just through the end of March, according to the first figures from an ongoing survey by the county Department of Cultural Affairs.
