You know, just your average run of the mill premises on display in eight plays presented Monday in the one-night-only 24-Hour Theatre Project now sponsored by Theatre Lab.

The future of the 24-Hour Theatre Project – a popular fund-raiser that cemented the theater community’s solidarity – seemed endangered when its founders, the Amadeos, announced they would be leaving the state. Enter the Theatre Lab, which will present Project on May 1 with the Amadeos’ blessing.
Theater Community Joins For 24 Hours To Support Special Cause
The eighth annual 24-Hour Theatre Project on Monday had a slightly different vibe to it with everyone on stage and much of the audience wearing tiny teal ribbons representing the fight against cervical cancer. But Naked Stage cofounders Katherine and Antonio Amadeo pledged the proceeds toward the medical expenses of theater supporter Dana Castelleno, who is in hospice with stage 4 cancer.

The Naked Stage’s annual 24-Hour Theatre Project is scheduled for 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, hosted this year by Palm Beach Dramaworks in West Palm Beach. All proceeds will go directly to Dana Castellano — a longtime supporter of the entire South Florida theatre community — to help cover medical costs as she battles cervical cancer.

24-Hour Theatre Project Madness To Benefit Naked Stage and Promethean
The scrappy Naked Stage and Promethean Theatre and about 50 of their friends stage a coffee-fueled marathon jam for a mostly sleepless 24-hour period to produce and present from scratch an evening’s worth of skits, playlets, goofs and hoots. The curtain will rise on the fifth annual edition at 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, in the Caldwell Theatre Company in Boca Raton.
