Breaking News: Maltz Theatre Withdraws From Carbonells
The Maltz Jupiter Theatre, one of the state’s most artistically and fiscally successful companies, has withdrawn its upcoming shows from consideration for Carbonell Awards for the coming season. The Carbonell board interpreted a brief letter from company to mean that it did not want its past productions from calendar year 2019 to be considered either.

Consistency Celebrated In Carbonell Nominations For 2018
The reliable consistency of quality of some South Florida companies’ work was underscored Thursday with the release of the nominations for the 43rd Carbonell Awards honoring excellence during 2018. Virtually every production during the year from Slow Burn Theatre Company, Zoetic Stage and Palm Beach Dramaworks resulted in at least one nomination.

Parkland Students ‘Shine’ In Highlight Of Carbonell Awards
An emotion-choked audience leapt to their feet during Monday’s 42nd annual Carbonell Awards ceremony, but it had nothing to do with the recognition of excellence in South Florida theater. The sustained outburst was the response to seven Stoneman Douglas students singing “Shine,” the song some of the students wrote in response to the Feb. 14 tragedy.
